Chef Timmy Lee:

Timothy B. Lee was born of Chinese descent in South Korea on December 2, 1976.  As a third generation chef, food has always been a part of his life and his family.  At the age of 1one his family immigrated to the United States to pursue the American Dream.  They settled in Atlanta, GA in hope of a better life for themselves.  With little money and education his parents continued to support themselves the only way they knew how, through food.  Since then he has grown up in and around the restaurant business.

Growing up in the restaurant was quite an experience for Chef Lee.  If you ask him he will tell you that food is in his blood.  His grandfather was an excellent Chef in South Korea who cooked for many important government officials, and his father is a wonderful chef of Asian cuisine who had built a successful restaurant chain.  So it just seemed natural for Chef Lee to follow in his family’s footsteps.  In 2001, at the age of 24 he decided to attend the culinary program at the Art Institute of Atlanta where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in culinary arts.  After graduating he began working at the Atlanta Athletic Club to help fine tune his skills in an “American Style” kitchen.  After 14 months at the Atlanta Athletic Club Chef Lee decided to make a career decision and find a job closer to his home in Buford.  Three months later, he joined the family at Grapes and Hops where he hopes to continue his growth in the culinary field.

For Chef Lee food is all about one thing, no boundaries.  Everyday is an opportunity to create new dishes and flavor combinations…all you have to do is use your imagination.
